Somatic Vision

I'm unable to open the trial version of Alive for Wild Divine because of a windows security alert. This flashes on screen on loading, the query "do you wish to continue blocking this program?" up for nano seconds before shutting down my PC for auto reboot. Most frustrating. Any way around this impasse??

Hi Patrick,

The first time you run Alive you do need to click "unblock" or "allow" so that Alive can work properly. Alive uses a local protocol to communicate between the biofeedback finger sensors and the main games. Alive does not cause the shut down though, and I have never heard of a PC shutting down at this time, while displaying this message. The message is a common one (the do you wish to continue blocking message) but does not generally (or ever that I have seen) lead to a restart or shut down.

Do you have any anti-virus software running, such as Norton? It might be worth trying to temporarily disable this and then running Alive. Once you have clicked allow once, this message will no longer appear.

Can you please tell me more about your system, such as about any anti-virus or similar software, version of Windows, and how old the machine is?

Thanks for the quick response Ryan.
I'm running Windows XP SP3, a Pentium 4 CPU 3.00Ghz with 2.00 GB of RAM.Windows Security Essentials and Immunet Protect as anti virus, with both Superanti Spyware and Malwarebytes anti malware.
It is as I say, however : Loading the program causes a Windows Security Alert as you suggest,but then produces a system lock down in seconds,freezing the cursor,and causing a reboot.
However I've been around computers too long to waste either your time or mine on torturous paths of diagnosis when computers go into 'Hal Mode" (as this one appears to be.) It either works or it doesn't.And as I'm moving to Windows 7 in a few months,I guess one could say the problem is academic.
So in the meantime, I had a brainwave,did a sideways shuffle,loaded the program on to my laptop which was far more compliant,giving me plenty of time to OK, so I'll now able to evaluate the program.
If I'd thought of this sooner, I wouldn't have troubled you.

Hi Patrick,

Yes, installing it on another computer should provide the fix you need. It sounds like you do have a number of different anti-virus / antimalware programs running at the same time. It is possible that the combination is creating a unique problem. If you are running the same combination on your other computer, and have the same result (which is unlikely due to a different operating system though) please let me know.
